Nutritional benefits of « what’s the name of the tree behind me »?

Can you see it’s cherries? I missed the flowers, obviously they blossomed during the confinement here, now the fruits are still raw, so the trees seem completely green! II found the green version of the cherry trees has its special charm, melting my heart as well! These trees aren’t only beautiful but they produce such great fruits we all love to look at and eat! And they have many nutritional benefits!

I read that cherries are a good source of fibre, vitamins and minerals, such as potassium, calcium, vitamin A and folic acid. They are also known for containing antioxidants anthocyanins and cyanidin that may help in inflammatory conditions like arthritis and diminish sport pain and speed up recuperation.

Its high polyphenol content can reduce blood pressure, the level of triglycerides  and cholesterols

Cherries can help regulate the level of insulin after meals and they might help slow down cancer cell division also.
Tart cherries contain phytochemicals including melatonin which is involved in the regulation of our sleep cycles, so cherry juice can improve both sleep quality and duration
I guess I can’t wait for the fruits to be ripe to the point like blood dripping out of these lovely trees!
